EXPLORING AUSTRALIAN PARAMEDICS'Â USE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THEIR PROFESSIONAL CODE OF CONDUCT
WHY IS THIS RESEARCH IMPORTANT?
Professional codes of conduct play an important role in the professionalisation of an occupation and aim to guide both professional and ethical behaviour. So far, despite the introduction of professional codes with the growing regulation of paramedicine, nothing is known about paramedics and their use of professional codes.
Understanding what paramedics know about their professional code is important for policymakers and regulators to assess the relevance of such codes, educators to consider teaching in these areas and individual clinicians to reflect on the importance of their professional code in their everyday clinical practice.
WHAT IS REQUIRED OF ME?
As a potential participant, you are being asked to participate in a one-on-one interview (via video-link) which is expected to take 45-60 minutes. This will be a semi-structured interview and aims to facilitate a conversation to better understand your perspectives of the Paramedicine Code of Conduct (interim) and how it influences your professional and ethical behaviour as a clinician.
